Returns and refunds

We want you to get the right part first time, which is why we check fitment against your registration or VIN before dispatch. If something still needs to come back, this page explains how. None of this affects your statutory rights.

Changing your mind

If you are a consumer, you can cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving it, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Tell us by email within those 14 days, then send the goods back within a further 14 days. We refund the price of the goods and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving them back.

Parts must come back unused, unfitted and in their original packaging, with any seals intact. A part that has been fitted, even briefly, has been used. You pay the cost of returning goods when you change your mind.

What cannot be returned for a change of mind

  • Modules and control units that we have coded to your van before dispatch, because they are made to your specification.
  • Electrical parts and sensors that have been fitted or connected to the van.
  • Oils, fluids, AdBlue and other liquids once the seal has been broken.
  • Fitting carried out at our workshop that has been fully completed with your agreement.

This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty.

Faulty parts

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, parts must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a part is faulty you can reject it for a full refund within 30 days. After that, we will repair or replace it, or refund you if that is not possible. We cover the cost of returning a faulty part.

Warranty

Every listing states its warranty period, which runs from the date of delivery. To claim, we need the order number, a description of the fault and, for parts that need professional fitting, the invoice from the garage that fitted them. The warranty does not cover wear and tear, damage from incorrect fitting, or failure caused by another fault on the van. It does not cover labour costs for parts fitted elsewhere.

The wrong part

If we sent the wrong part, or a part that does not fit the registration or VIN you gave us, we collect it at our cost and send the right one. If no registration or VIN was supplied and the part does not fit, it can be returned as a change of mind under the terms above.

Remanufactured units and core returns

Remanufactured units carry a refundable surcharge. Return your old unit to us within 30 days in the box the new one came in and we refund the surcharge once we have checked it, as set out on our Delivery page.

Fitting at our workshop

You can cancel a fitting booking free of charge up to 48 hours before the booked date. If you cancel within 14 days of ordering but after we have started work at your request, we refund the price less the value of the work already done.

How to return something

  1. Email info@atautoparts.co.uk with your order number and the reason.
  2. We reply within one working day with a returns reference and the address.
  3. Pack the part securely in its original box and use a tracked service. Keep your proof of postage.

Returns from outside the UK must be marked as returned goods on the customs form, with your order number, so that no import charges are applied. We refund the goods, not the import duty or taxes you paid, which you may be able to reclaim from your own customs authority.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with anything, email us first and we will do our best to put it right. You can also contact Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 if you are in the UK.
